Rules of the contest 2011

THE SECOND BELGRADE INTERNATIONAL CHOIR FESTIVAL "THE VOICE OF BELGRADE" OF 6 - 8 MAY 2011

I CATEGORIES
Competition part of the second international choir festival “The Voice of Belgrade” is classified in two following categories:  

1. VOCAL ENSEMBLES
(male, female and mixed ensembles from 4 to 12 singers);

2. CHAMBER CHOIRS
(mixed choirs from 16 to 26 singers).

II THE PROGRAM

Each choir shall present itself with five compositions in total duration of maximum 20 minutes,
as follows:
1. A composition from the baroque/Renaissance period at their choice,
2. A composition from the second half of the twentieth century at their choice,
3. A composition with folklore motives – from the choir country of origin – at their choice,
4. Spiritual composition at their choice,
5. Compulsory composition:

II handful – Stevan St. Mokranjac (for male and female vocal ensembles)

VIII handful - Stevan. St. Mokranjac (for chamber mixed choirs).

III RATING

Technique (rhythm, articulation and color);
Intonation;
Interpretation;
Style characteristics.
IV JURY AWARDS
1. prize - from 91 to 100 points;
2. prize - from 81 to 90 points;
3. prize - from 71 to 80 points, and
The best conductor award.

V RULES FOR APPLICATION

1. Application filled in (in e-form);
APPLICATION (download the application).

2. Ten minutes of audio/video recording of choral performance not older than a year (CD, DVD, MP3);
3. Biographies of ensembles/choirs;
4. A conductor biography;
5. Up-to-date photo of the ensemble/choir (in hi-res);
6. Up-to-date photo of the conductor (in hi-res).
The final deadline to apply for participation at the second international choir festival “The Voice of Belgrade” is 15th of Apriil 2011.  

 Please send filled-in application, biography of the ensemble/choir, the conductor biography, up-to-date photo of the ensemble/choir and of the conductor to the following e-mail: marko.pesic@glasbeograda.net.
Following the deadline date for applications, all applicant choirs shall receive a notification from the Organizational Board on the selection of participants.

VI REGISTRATION FEE

- Local choirs – 50 euros.
- Foreign choirs – 10 euros per member of the ensemble/choir.

The official agency of International Choir Festival the "Voice of Belgrade", a tourist agency “Impala”, shall provide accommodation and all informations about registration fee payment for all foreign choirs ( http://www.impalayu.com/ ).
